I guess I owe you a couple of posts, but I’ve just been having to much of a good time. You know that feeling when you’re happy just because you’re thankful for what you have? That’s how I feel. Thankfulness = Happiness, ’cause you don’t set yourself up for disappointment.
The reason of this post is much other. I’m trying to combine two posts in one.
1. Mini Golf
This night was quite special. I’ve never played that much mini golf and turns out I’m quite good at it (as the competitive person that I am, I quite enjoyed that). The thing that I like the most about Mons is that you can walk to any destination and that’s a privacy I enjoy, since we do get to work out much here. As soon I buy myself a pair of sneakers I’ll join the gym (I know, no excuses but i literally don’t have shoes to work out in).
Anyways, this place was special, with the lights and everything (see pictures below)
2. CARNAVAL DE BINCHE
This one was another event I enjoyed a lot. The belgians have a tradition of “pushing away” the winter and welcoming the summer and they do that by dressing up in traditional costumes and throwing oranges at people (I know, was weird for me too).
The children dress up in colorful costumes and hats and the adults have the same costume. The myth says that if you catch an orange, put it on your table, it brings luck. Belgians use this opportunity to catch a lot of oranges and just eat them. They walk around in the streets and chant with the crowd. Let me point out that the crowd was UNBELIEVABLE! Never seem so many people united just to catch oranges, with the police everywhere.
This is all for now, but I’ll be back soon.
Last Sunday we decided to go sightseeing in Brussels. I’ve always wanted to go to brussels and i did. It’s a beautiful city but like every other big city it has things that makes it special.
Throughout my stay here, we’ve agreed that we want to make the most of it and see as many places as we can.
Anyways in Brussels we saw the Manneken Pis (look it up, so funny a story), then we saw the national parliament ( still need to see the European though) and last but not least the atomium ( which is THE belgian trademark).
Belgium is not that big, but it has beautiful history, people are really open and nice here (even on the street). Everyone wanna help eachother. I’m really having fun here and I’m happy to be here.
I ve already met some great people and they could be friends we make for life.
Peace of advice: when in a new place, be open and be gentle and outgoing, you’ll be surprised what you get in return by being nice to people.
SO I have relocated! I’m now in Belgium and I’m here as a part of an exchange program that my school has. I’m studying abroad. I’ve done it before – and yes, you may ask why I wanna do it again – but I simply just love being in other countries and learn about other cultures because it inspires me to be different and open minded and tolerant, so I can grow as a person.
Last time I was abroad was in 2012, where I was in France, and even though they are neighboring countries, Frenchmen and belgians are SO different in many ways which I can not start to list here, but also very alike. Don’t worry I’ll be posting weekly and letting you guys know what i’m experiencing and going through.
The reason of the post today is because I simply can’t get enough of their “Gauffres” OMG. I mean, I have tested them before and I like them, but they’re like EVERYWHERE!!! And they taste sooooo good! :) I have some pics for you to drool over.
Anyway, besides that, I’m enjoying myself a little bit. I feel like i’m away somewhere to do some soul searching or something, ’cause i’m by myself right now, but I can’t wait for school to start next week so I can meet some people and start having fun (Not saying that i’m not having fun right now).
Until next time, take care.
This year has got off to a good start. I’m getting ready to make some changes in my life. Moving away very soon nd I’m excited about that, even though tje process is a bit challenging, but I can do anything through Him who strengthens me.
I have decided to be excited about my life and be grateful for the blessings that I have, cuz some people aren’t that lucky.
My wish ia for you to have a blessed and wonderful year and may you get one step closer to your goals!
Outfit: Classic. Simpel. Stylish.
I would like you to take a moment to think about this for a while. You never miss a good thing until it’s gone. By that I wanna say that most times we don’t appreciate the things and the people in our lives. We should make an effort to be grateful for whatever we have and keep in mind that other people aren’t that fortunate.
Usually, we think about what we want and it’s mostly because we want people to see that we have a lot, but life isn’t about showing off; it’s about being the best version of yourself and being thankful.
I can use my own experience in this matter. When I was younger, I wanted to have everything just because I wnated people to see, but I’ve come to realise that everything is vanity. The most important thing is what you have inside and what you can give other people. As I grow older I make an effort to be thankful for what I have, I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need and that’s what a lot of us don’t know. You can have all the money in the world, but if you don’t have people around you that loves you, you have nothing. Treat the people that treat you right and that are there for you with respect and the people that don’t care about you, well there’re just there to cause drama in your life and distract you from pursuing your goals.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot the past few days, and at the same time It was thanksgiving weekend last weekend. You know the feeling you get when you think : “I want this, I want that and I want it now?”, well I want you to change that thought and think : “I have this, I have that, wow how blessed am i!” That’s the spirit. That way you won’t be distracted and you may just be blessed with what you want and more.
Be Thankful for everything you have. It’s only because you’re blessed that you have what you have. Stay focused and you might be suprised.
Hope you’ll use this time to think about that and with that being said, stay blessed!
Do you ever get that feeling of being on top of the world? Yeah that’s how I feel right now and there’s no specific reason, only the fact that I decided to focus on the positive things in my life. Stop thinking of what could have been or what could be and just enjoy the moment.
There’s a saying that goes:”Sometimes you got yo lose to win again”. If something doesn’t work out for you, let it go and maybe, just maybe something greater awaits you.
This picture says it all. Be aware of the power you have and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Word of the day: Positive mind.
